K O R Consulting was founded by Keolebogile Modise who is the sole Director of this company. She has more than twenty years experience in the business development sector and has occupied Executive positions for fifteen years in different SMME Development agencies. She has developed products/services to develop SMMEs. In addition, she has developed policies and procedures for both SMMEs and organisations responsible for SMME development, and for SMMEs themselves. Furthermore, Keolebogile has developed systems to improve productivity and has managed projects worth multi millions of rands successfully.
Keolebogile graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Science. She majored in Mathematics and Economic Science. Among other subjects, she studied Accounting and Computer Science. She then furthered her studies with the University of South Africa, where she graduated with Masters in Business Leadership.
She started working as a Researcher with the National Labour and Economic Development Institute (NALEDI) in 1999. Her responsibilities included advising government, especially the dti, on the legislative issues. Late 1990s was the time of transformation and the government was coming up and amending Acts and Policies to benefit the majority of this country. Keolebogile played an important role then, being the economic think tank of COSATU through NALEDI, she advised the government from the labour perspective. She also conducted research for the North West Province Cabinet Lekgotla to advice them which sectors to concentrate on that had a potential of creating jobs and being sustainable.
She joined the Department of Economic Development and Planning as a Deputy Director for the Enterprise Development Directorate in 2002. Keolebogile was managing this directorate being responsible for the SMME development in the whole province of Mpumalanga. The mandate was to establish and capacitate agencies and organizations supporting and assisting SMME in the province. Among others, Keolebogile took part in establishing organizations like Small Enterprise Development Agency, South African Micro Apex Fund, Mpumalanga Manufacturing Advisory Centre, Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency. She also initiated programmes within the directorate to help the targeted groups (women, disabled people, youth and the rural communities).
Keolebogile was deployed to Small Enterprise Development Agency to establish this agency’s office in the Ehlanzeni District Municipality in 2006. She established three offices in three local municipalities.
She joined Enablis South Africa to establish the network in Mpumalanga and Mozambique in 2007. Keolebogile doubled membership of this organization in Mpumalanga within one year and the Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted by external consultants proved that she was the highest performer in the whole country. The survey report also showed that Keolebogile managed to create networks for the members that resulted in most companies more than doubling their income and created on average 5 jobs per company in that one year.
Keolebogile ran her company, KOR CONSULTING, in 2008 to 2011, which has played a major role in establishing and developing many businesses. The company has worked with the following clients in developing SMMEs:
She simultaneously took a challenge as a Regional Operations Manager for the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller West Rand Region in 2008. She managed to motivate staff in GEP West Rand which resulted in the region exceeding targets by more than 200% in some of the objectives.
She was later promoted to the General Manager- Enterprise Support in 2010 with four departments being, Research and Development, Product Development, Aftercare Support and Cooperatives Support Department, reporting to her. She has made significant difference in less than three months. Because of her dedication and excellence, Keolebogile was also requested to head the Financial Support when its General Manager resigned. When she took over this unit, the unit was behind with regards to achieving its targets by almost 90%. In three months Keolebogile ensured the unit exceeded its targets for the year.
Keolebogile’s last employment was an Executive Manager- Corporate Services at the NHBRC from 2013 to 2018 August, and has headed in access of R1 billion rand worth projects. She has developed strategies, policies and procedures for the Human Capital, Facilities Management and Information Technology departments. She has revamped all these departments and implemented new systems including all modules of SAP and Unified Communications. Keolebogile multi-managed major projects efficiently, with high professionalism and integrity.
